A synthetic polyamide rope with high strength and high elongation, giving it excellent shock-absorbing properties. Sinks in water and has good UV resistance, though poor acid resistance. Best suited for towing, anchor lines, and mooring.

A plastic polymer rope with lower tensile strength and low-to-moderate stretch, making it less stable under heavy load. UV resistance is poor and it degrades in sunlight, though it is highly resistant to chemicals. Best suited for light tying and temporary use.

A thermoplastic polymer rope with moderate strength and moderate stretch. Floats on water, making it a popular choice for pool lanes, water sports, and safety lines. UV resistance is poor, but it has excellent acid resistance.
